First thing’s first Bama is short for Alabama and has nothing whatsoever to do with Obama!
Hi, I’m Marie a stay at home mom to an Awesome Unique Totally Interesting Sometimes Mysterious kid! I am married to a Brilliant Man who Stole my Heart 20 years ago! I am also a Blogger, Web Designer, Web Host, Baker, Product Reviewer, Writer and I love it! I blog as a personal hobby and income generator. I’m a SAHM & WAHM!
I was born in the city of Detroit, state of Michigan in late 1973 to Sherry & Donny. I went to school and grew up loving food! I loved to eat and make food, it was something I would actually think about often. I later met my husband when I was 18 years old and we married in 1995 the day after my birthday. I changed my name to Baker, which was the hubby’s name. All I could think was I married into the right last name if nothing else came from it, I would keep that name!
Hubby and I were together for 11 years roughly when I had our son. When we had our son he was a big surprise, a miracle you could say, considering I was told by a doctor I wouldn’t have any children back some years ago. He didn’t give me a real reason other than, I wouldn’t count on it. He mentioned my weight as well and I ended up losing around 73 pounds by September 2002 after 3 months of busting my ass working out and drinking so much water it was pouring out of me in sweat! After around 3 months of feeling really good and feeling the newer me, I noticed I didn’t feel good and my ankles were huge and my face looked swollen. Well I found out I was pregnant which really at this point scared me! I had given up on the idea of having a baby by this time so it shocked me and made me scared. Most of my fear was related more to actually giving birth. The thought of that terrified me, I know women do it every day, but I’m not normally one to causing myself pain lol once he was born though OMG he was so beautiful. He was my little skinny, teeny, weeny 3 lb 10 oz baby boy, Leo!
Today Leo is 10 years old and he is a mini me and a mini daddy! It just depends he looks a whole lot like my Dad, dark hair and eyes which I also have. Hubby is blue eyes and dirty or dishwater blonde, so it just depends on the facial expression too. He’s my sweet boy! This year 2013 he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, this really wasn’t a surprise to me. I kinda figure already the previous doctor said he would have some learning disabilities. I don’t look at them as disabilities they make him unique! He is so smart at things that most kids wouldn’t even think of doing at his age! He does his own version of reviews using Youtube, he amazes me! When he was almost 9 he started picking apart video game emulators and the games for’em, removing the original games images and adding his own that he created using Jasc PSP! Okay seriously WHAT? Yes He couldn’t hardly read 10 words! He could do this though. How did he find the images, how did he know what to name them, how did he get them back to the right spot? I know all of the answers, but that’s because I am pretty smart when it comes to computers too! They just came natural to me, like I had been using them my whole life!
My first computer back in time:
I got my first computer in 1996 and it was amazing! I was able to play CD’s on it! LMAO that was the coolest thing then (to me). lol I also played on America Online! It was the first thing I used online. They made it so easy and the internet was so new and exciting. by 1999 I had my own web sites on free services and paid. I could even find offers then for get your first year of domain service free! I wish I could remember those web site names now, the ones I used. You had to host with them to get the domain free. My first site was called bakerbutts.com, I know right lol! If I only would have bought our names then! And a half a million 2 and 3 letter domains, but I was still learning and had no idea what this would turn out. I really should have guessed though lol. The internet freaking exploded!!! KABOOM!!!
